Ponzi Scheme

Wilson Baston has been charged by the SEC for defrauding multiple investors in a Ponzi scheme. Baston allegedly raised millions of dollars by claiming the funds would be used for real estate investments but instead used the money to pay off earlier investors and for personal expenses. After serving prison time for a previous Ponzi scheme conviction in 2008, Baston resumed his fraudulent activities using aliases and presenting himself as a real estate industry expert. He solicited investments for Gordon Management Group LLC, promising quick returns and a percentage of profits, but diverted the funds for unauthorized purposes.
