Type of alert:

Failure to Supervise

Ross R. Fabregas, who was with LPL Financial from November 2020 to May 2024, was terminated by the firm over allegations of borrowing $15,000 from a customer without repayment, a violation of regulations barring such loans except under specific conditions. Fabregas also had three tax liens against him in late 2022 and 2023. Prior to his time at LPL Financial, he worked with Cambridge Investment Research and was based in Albany, New York. Under securities regulations, FINRA member firms are required to have effective supervisory and compliance procedures; failure to reasonably supervise their financial advisors could make firms liable for customer losses.
