The SEC recently charged Michael Wayne Williams and his businesses Highguard Capital, LP, and Guardian Opportunity Management, LP, with a multipart offering fraud. The Complaint alleges that Williams sold over $1.8 million to investors, fraudulently representing what it would be used for. He also allegedly obtained $16 million from investors using false performance returns and sold over $1 million to a woman and used the money to pay previous investors.
