Fraud

The SEC charged Matthew Motil, host of the podcast, “The Cash Flow King,” for fraudulently raising approximately $11 million from more than 50 investors. Motil allegedly promised low-risk, high-return promissory notes collateralized by first mortgages on homes. He told investors he would pay returns from profits from renovating, selling, refinancing, and renting the properties; however, he regularly sold promissory notes he claimed were secured by the same property to multiple investors. Rather than renovate properties, he used the money for personal expenses and to pay earlier investors.
