FINRA Barred
ChapmanAlbin is investigating claims on behalf of investors who may have been harmed by former Farmers Financial Solutions broker James Elroy Burton, Jr.
According to a recent FINRA disciplinary action, Burton has been permanently barred from the securities industry for refusing to provide documents in an investigation concerning his involvement in private securities transactions and outside business activities. The case originated from a customer arbitration and focused on Burton’s sale of promissory notes tied to crypto asset investment programs—conduct that may have occurred without proper disclosures to his firm.
While Burton initially cooperated with the investigation, he later ceased responding to FINRA. On April 7, 2025, FINRA sent a formal request for documents under Rule 8210. During a call with FINRA days later, Burton confirmed he had received the request but would not comply. His refusal violated FINRA Rules 8210 and 2010, resulting in a permanent bar from associating with any FINRA member firm.
Burton was registered with Farmers Financial Solutions, LLC from 2007 until his termination in October 2023 for failing to disclose outside business dealings and private securities sales.
