The SEC recently announced fraud charges against Chester Alvarez, Francis Biller, Raymond Dove, Troy Gran-Brooks, and Justin Plaizier. The group allegedly operated a call center in Medellin, Columbia and convinced retail investors to buy the stocks of small companies trading in U.S. markets by utilizing false and misleading statements and high-pressure sales tactics. They also allegedly set up fake investment management companies with bogus names, websites, and phone numbers, generating at least $58 million.
