ChapmanAlbin has filed claims against Cetera Advisor Networks and its representative, George Dewey Eggers III, related to the sale of illiquid “alternative investments” and high-cost mutual funds, according to the complaint. Eggers is a broker and investment advisor registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority with 39 years of experience. The complaint alleges Eggers and Cetera told their client to invest in a high-commission Business Development Company (“BDC”), FS Energy & Power Fund, and multiple high-cost mutual funds offered by Horizon Investments against her best interests

ChapmanAlbin is suing Cetera and Eggers to recover more than $100,000 their client lost due to Eggers’ and Cetera’s alleged bad investment advice. Investment professionals have a duty to give investment advice in their clients’ best interests, not themselves.
