FINRA Complaint

ChapmanAlbin is investigating potential claims on behalf of investors who worked with former LPL Financial advisor Alton B. Raney, II.

According to a FINRA disciplinary action, Raney has been permanently barred from the securities industry after refusing to cooperate with FINRA’s investigation into his conduct. The investigation stemmed from his April 2023 termination by LPL Financial for concerns related to the appropriateness of short-term mutual fund transactions.

Raney was requested to provide on-the-record testimony in March 2025. He acknowledged receipt of the request but informed FINRA that he would not appear at any time. This refusal to comply with FINRA Rule 8210 constituted a violation of both FINRA Rules 8210 and 2010, leading to his permanent bar.

Raney also faced regulatory action in December 2024 from the Arkansas Securities Department for violations involving unsuitable recommendations and unethical conduct. As a result, his registration was retroactively revoked, and he is prohibited from reapplying in Arkansas for five years.
