Exactech is a company that manufactures orthopedic implants for joint replacement—hip, knee, ankle, and shoulder replacement devices. It’s been alleged that due to defects in packaging which allowed the plastic components in replacement products to be exposed to too much oxygen. As of March 2024, 1,244 Exactech recall lawsuits have been filed before the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York, and all of them are still pending.
The Exactech lawsuit plaintiffs are seeking compensation for injuries related to their implanted joint replacement devices. These are product liability claims which ask that Exactech compensate those injured by defective implants, including their recalled Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Knee and Ankle Polyethylene Inserts which were manufactured between 2004 and August of 2021.
