FINRA Complaint

A recent customer complaint has been filed against Bill Morrison, a financial advisor based in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, who is currently affiliated with B. Riley Wealth Management. The complaint, filed with FINRA in February 2025, alleges that Morrison recommended an unsuitable investment strategy involving the use of margin and excessive concentration in the technology sector. The investor claims losses ranging from $100,000 to $500,000.

Bill Morrison has been registered with B. Riley Wealth Management since July 2019 and previously worked with National Securities Corp. The allegations raise concerns about potential breaches of FINRA’s suitability rule (Rule 2111) and Regulation Best Interest (Reg BI), which require brokers to place their clients’ interests ahead of their own and recommend investments appropriate to a client’s financial situation and goals.

If brokerage firms like B. Riley Wealth Management fail to supervise their advisors effectively or ignore signs of misconduct, they may be held liable for resulting investor losses. Morrison may also be individually liable if found to have made misrepresentations or given unsuitable advice.

If you suffered financial losses after working with Bill Morrison, you may be eligible to pursue recovery through FINRA arbitration. ChapmanAlbin is actively investigating this matter and can help you evaluate your legal options.
