FINRA Barred
Attorneys at ChapmanAlbin are investigating the actions of Maria De Los Angeles Leon, a former General Securities Representative, who has been barred from the financial industry by FINRA. Leon was sanctioned after refusing to provide information or testimony during an investigation into the misappropriation of customer funds while employed at PNC Investments.
Leon was registered with FINRA from 2012 until her termination by PNC Investments in September 2024. The firm terminated Leon after uncovering evidence of possible misappropriation of customer funds, which led to FINRA’s investigation. Despite multiple requests from FINRA for documents and testimony regarding the matter, Leon refused to comply. In response, FINRA found her in violation of its rules, specifically FINRA Rule 8210 (requiring cooperation in investigations) and Rule 2010 (requiring members to observe high standards of commercial honor).
As a result of her refusal to cooperate, Leon has been barred from associating with any FINRA member in any capacity, effectively ending her career in the securities industry. The bar becomes effective immediately upon acceptance of the settlement, and she is now subject to statutory disqualification under FINRA rules.
